History

The Cool Breeze Helping Hands program is a non-profit equine rescue program operated by Ann and Jim Phillip.  The farm is located on 40 acres of land in Trenton, WI.  Rescued and retired horses share the land with ponies, donkeys, and a herd of buffalo.

The program began in 2001, when Ann and Jim happened on two horses scheduled for slaughter.  One horse was lame as a result of mistreatment and the second horse was socially unattached as a result of severe abuse.  After a long period of care and rehabilitation, both Shadow and Spirit were placed in carefully selected adoptive homes.

Since that time, other horses, ponies, and donkeys have arrived at Cool Breeze Helping Hands through referrals and word-of-mouth.  All have been cared for and returned to a state of health and grace.  Some have been placed in adoptive homes and others remain at the farm to live out their retirement years with dignity.
